We're HOME!!

After amazingly short stays at the AMC NICU and the Glens Falls Special Care Nursery, we are both HOME! After only 11 days in the hospitals, Matthew was able to come home this past Wednesday. He weighed 5 pounds even when he left Glens Falls but had gained 4 ounces at his doctor appointment two days later on Friday!

The crib at home is MUCH bigger than the tiny isoletes at the hospital. From the day Matthew got home, he eagerly waited for Nathan to join him.

Kaira was excited when Matthew came home. She keeps saying, "Oh, cute!" and "Tiny toes!" whenever she sees him. She's very good at holding him and is going to be a wonderful big sister!

Then today, after only 14 days in the hospitals, Nathan got to come home. He was just 4 pounds, 3 ounces when he left Glens Falls, but was healthy as can be! We are so glad to be back together again and finally able to snuggle up with one another again. Other than our size difference, we look amazingly similar (no surprise, of course, since we have the same DNA). You might notice, however, that our ears have slightly different shapes. Now we understand why they take side-view photos as part of mug shots. :)
