6-month checkup

We had our 6-month check-up earlier this week. They checked us angels from every angle! From the front:
From the top:
And from behind:We even checked each other out:Matthew was 17 pounds, 4 ounces and 25 inches long. His head circumference was 44 cm.
Nathan was 13 pounds, 14 ounces and 24.25 inches long. His head circumference was 41.5 cm.

Everything checked out just fine except for one thing: Nathan's soft spot has been bulging for a couple of weeks (you can see it a bit in the pictures above). He's been eating fine, acting fine, and has no other strange symptoms, but a bulging brain isn't anything to take lightly. So, Mommy took him down to Albany Med (ah...memories!) for an ultrasound. They found that he has some extra fluid around his brain, but not in the ventricles, which is apparently pretty common in preemies and should resolve itself with time. We're all so thankful that it's not meningitis or hydrocephalus or anything else we can't pronounce!

At 6 months old, we've been using our hands more.
And our feet more, too! We've also discovered that we can touch our feet with our hands (as Matthew demonstrates below). What a concept! What fun! We've also begun to use the exersaucer! Hey, Nathan, I think that purple leopard is looking at you."Hey, Kaira. Can you give us some pointers on how to have fun in this thing?"
